It is a privilege to share this message on the occasion of the Best Corporate & Sustainability Reports (BCSR) Awards 2025, jointly organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and ICMA International.

At its best, corporate reporting is far more than a regulatory obligation. It is an essential foundation of trust between an organization and its stakeholders—investors, lenders, regulators, employees, customers, and society at large. Reporting anchored in transparency, sound governance, accountability, and integrity strengthens confidence in our institutions, reinforces the credibility of our capital markets, and supports Pakistan’s sustainable economic progress.

For more than six decades, ICAP has remained steadfast in advancing the accountancy profession and strengthening this foundation of trust in Pakistan. As the national professional body for Chartered Accountants, the Institute has contributed to the advancement of international financial reporting and auditing practices, promoted stronger corporate governance, and upheld professional competence and ethics through rigorous education, continuing professional development, and quality assurance. Through initiatives such as the BCSR Awards, ICAP continues to encourage organizations to embrace global best practices in transparency, accountability, sustainability, and responsible disclosure.

Over the years, the BCSR Awards have emerged as a respected benchmark for excellence in corporate and sustainability reporting. They recognize organizations across diverse sectors whose reports demonstrate clarity, credibility, transparency, and meaningful disclosure. Equally important, the Awards encourage the broader corporate sector to continuously raise standards and strengthen the quality of engagement with stakeholders.

The expectations placed upon organizations are evolving rapidly. While financial performance remains fundamental, stakeholders increasingly seek a fuller understanding of how organizations create and sustain long-term value, manage risks and opportunities, exercise responsible stewardship, and respond to environmental and social considerations. High-quality reporting must therefore be viewed not merely as an exercise in compliance, but as a reflection of an organization’s values, resilience, accountability, and commitment to responsible value creation.

I warmly congratulate all award winners and participating organizations on their commitment to reporting excellence. Their efforts contribute not only to stronger disclosure, but also to stronger institutions, better-informed stakeholders, and greater confidence in Pakistan’s corporate sector. I also extend my sincere appreciation to the members of the Joint Task Force, the evaluators and judges for their rigorous and impartial work, and to our sponsors and partners for their continued support of this important initiative.

As reporting practices continue to evolve, our collective responsibility is to ensure that transparency, accountability, and sustainability remain at the heart of how organizations communicate and create value. I am confident that the BCSR Awards will continue to inspire organizations across Pakistan to pursue higher standards of corporate and sustainability reporting and, in doing so, contribute to a more transparent, resilient, sustainable, and trusted business environment.
