Foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) rose by $19 million on a weekly basis to $21.49 billion as of October 16, 2026, the central bank said on Thursday.
According to data released by the SBP, the country’s total liquid foreign reserves stood at $26.83 billion.
Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks stood at $5.34 billion.
“During the week ended on 16-Oct-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$19 million to US$21,488.6 million,” the central bank said.
Last week, the country’s forex reserves had increased by $16 million to $21.47 billion during the week ended October 9, 2026.
Meanwhile, total liquid reserves actually fell by about $30 million week-on-week, from $26.86 billion, because commercial banks’ holdings dropped by roughly $49 million. That could be worth a line if you want it.
