FAISALABAD: BusCaro, a Pakistani technology-led commute platform, has begun preparations to launch operations in Faisalabad, marking its first expansion beyond Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The company expects to begin services in Faisalabad by the end of 2026, with additional cities planned for 2027. The move follows BusCaro becoming EBITDA-positive in its existing markets earlier this year. Preparatory work in Faisalabad is already under way, including discussions with local vehicle suppliers and prospective corporate clients, alongside the hiring of a local team. BusCaro provides employee commute and on-demand transport services to businesses, including multinationals, banks, hospitals and airlines.

Faisalabad was selected because of the scale of its industrial and export economy and the daily transport needs of its workforce. The city has a population of around 3.69 million, while the wider district has more than nine million residents. Around 50,000 industrial units operate in Faisalabad, making reliable employee transport a significant operational issue for employers.

The expansion also comes as fuel costs continue to put pressure on commuting expenses. For companies operating factories, offices or service locations across multiple cities, organised shared transport can offer a more predictable way to manage employee movement, attendance and punctuality.

“Over four years we built and proved this model in Pakistan’s largest urban centres, and reaching profitability showed it is sustainable,” said Maha Shahzad, Founder and CEO of BusCaro. “Employers in

Faisalabad and other cities face the same commuting challenges with far fewer options. Faisalabad is the first of many new cities on our map.”

BusCaro said its wider expansion strategy will focus on cities where employer demand, workforce density and gaps in organised transport create a practical case for shared mobility services. The expanded footprint is also expected to allow businesses with operations in several cities to work with a single transport provider under one contract.
