ISLAMABAD: On Prime Minister’s directions, the federal government has announced the establishment of a Seerat Endowment Fund with an initial allocation of Rs 100 million.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM) Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar made the announcement while addressing the Inaugural Ceremony of the 3rd International Seerat Festival on Monday.
The DPM/FM underscored that the Seerah of the Holy Prophet offers guidance for promoting justice, mutual respect and understanding among nations.
In this spirit, he highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to build bridges and advance regional peace. He called for adherence to the UN Charter and relevant UN resolutions in addressing the situation in Palestine and resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
The DPM/FM also emphasised the importance of tolerance and respect for differences in countering extremism. He stressed that education should instil the values of the Seerah in the younger generation.
