Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani will visit Pakistan from October 7 to 8 for talks with Pakistani officials on strengthening bilateral ties, including trade, investment, defence and security cooperation, the Foreign Office (FO) said on Wednesday.

Al Zayani will co-chair the third session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the FO said.

The two sides will review bilateral relations and discuss ways to strengthen cooperation across diverse areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, economic cooperation, defence and security, labour and manpower, and cultural exchanges, it said.

The ministers will also discuss regional and international developments and cooperation at multilateral forums, according to the foreign ministry.

Pakistan and Bahrain enjoy close, brotherly relations founded on shared faith, common values, mutual respect, and longstanding people-to-people links. The two countries maintain regular high-level exchanges and close cooperation across a wide range of areas.

The visit reflects the strong momentum in Pakistan–Bahrain relations and the shared commitment of both countries to further deepen bilateral cooperation and advance mutually beneficial ties, the foreign ministry said.
