KARACHI: Gold prices slumped on Thursday, tracking a global market’s significant downtrend, traders said.
Local market lost gold prices by Rs5,600 to Rs448,336 per tola and Rs4,801 to Rs384,375 per 10 grams, according to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
On the world market, gold bullion rates dropped by USD 56, reaching USD 4,258 per ounce while silver prices declined by USD 2 to USD 64 per ounce, it added.
Domestic silver market traded the white metal at Rs6,837 per tola and Rs5,861 per 10 grams, down by Rs171 and Rs147, respectively, the association said.
It is worth noting that the open market may sell gold and silver at prices differing those announced by the association that links them to the interbank exchange rates.
