Dr Najeeb sworn in as 25th AJK president

MUZAFFARABAD: Dr Muhammad Najeeb Naqi of the fuling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was sworn in as the 25th president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Thursday, hours after his election to the office.

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Saeed Akram administered the oath to Dr Najib Naqi. The oath-taking ceremony was held at the President’s House in Muzaffarabad, which was also attended by Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Iftikhar Gilani.

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam, ministers, members of the assembly, judges, senior civil servants and other prominent figures were also present during the oath-taking ceremony.
