KARACHI: Alkhidmat Karachi has added three buses to its funeral transport fleet, taking the total number to 22.
A ceremony was held at Alkhidmat’s Head Office on Saturday, where the buses were handed over to local offices to facilitate residents in their respective areas.
Alkhidmat Karachi CEO Naveed Ali Baig said the new buses would expand access to funeral transport.
He said Alkhidmat charged 50 percent or even lower rates than other providers in the city, making the facility affordable for more people.
He appealed to affluent individuals to support Alkhidmat’s welfare initiatives and contribute to its community service efforts. Baig said an online booking system would soon be introduced to make the facility easier to access. Work on the system is already under way.
Executive Director, Rashid Qureshi, Jamaat-e-Islami District SITE West Ameer Dr Noor-ul-Haq, District Gadap Ameer Irfan Ahmed, Director Community Services Umar Qaimkhani, Senior Manager Community Services Sarfaraz Sheikh and other officials attended the event.
