PESHAWAR: Workers of PESCO, TESCO and HAZECO have expressed full confidence in the central and provincial leadership of the All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union.
They vowed to resist the government’s decision to impose compulsory service and banning the CBA union, saying the matter would be challenged in the Supreme Court and raised with the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
The workers also opposed privatisation and sale of profitable discos, urging the government to merge all distribution companies with WAPDA.
They called for recruitment against vacant posts to curb electricity theft and improve services for consumers.
