KARACHI: Children from underserved communities will gain access to interactive science and experiential learning opportunities at The Dawood Foundation’s MagnifiScience Centre through a new education-focused partnership supported by Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited’s Tameer Trust.

The initiative will sponsor student visits to the Centre, allowing young learners to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics beyond conventional classroom settings. Through exhibits, experiments and hands-on activities, participating children will be able to engage with scientific concepts through curiosity, observation and discovery.

The programme is intended to make meaningful STEM learning experiences available to students who may otherwise have limited access to specialised science facilities.

“Access to meaningful learning experiences can have a lasting impact on how young people see themselves and the world around them,” said Favad Soomro, Chief Executive Officer of The Dawood Foundation. “Through our initiatives, we aim to make science engaging and accessible to children from all backgrounds.”

Zubair Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of Wafi Energy Pakistan, said the initiative reflected the importance of investing in young people’s development. “The future of Pakistan depends on how our young people are learning and developing today,” he said, adding that the partnership would help make STEM education more engaging and enjoyable.

Shafiq Ahmed, Trustee of The Dawood Foundation, said collaborations of this nature enable the MagnifiScience Centre to reach more young visitors and allow them to experience science through exploration.

The agreement was signed by Shaikh and Soomro in the presence of senior representatives from both organisations, including Imran Qureshi, Director Corporate and Government Relations at Wafi Energy Pakistan, and Christoph S. Sprung, Chief Governance Officer at The Dawood Foundation.

The collaboration builds on the organisations’ shared commitment to widening access to education and creating learning opportunities for young people.
