Safe City ‘Mera Pyara’ traces parents of girl missing for 12 years
LAHORE: The Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s “Mera Pyara” Virtual Center for Child Safety has achieved another major success by tracing the parents of Sana Ashraf, who went missing from Faisalabad 12 years ago at the age of six.
According to details, Sana Ashraf went missing from Faisalabad in 2014 when she was only six years old.
She was subsequently shifted to the Child Protection Bureau in Lahore through the police, where she remained for nearly 12 years.
In an effort to trace her family, the “Mera Pyara” team conducted several detailed interviews with Sana Ashraf and gathered every possible clue regarding her parents and place of origin. Based on the names “Ato Ana” and “Jang Pur” mentioned by the girl, the team launched an extensive search and verification process across different areas.
After persistent investigation and verification of available information, “Mera Pyara” team traced a village named “Yang Pur” in Okara and immediately visited the area for further investigation. Further inquiries revealed that Sana Ashraf’s parents had moved from Yang Pur to Chung Manowal in Lahore. The Safe City “Mera Pyara” team continued its efforts and successfully traced her parents in Chung Manowal, paving the way for the reunion of the family after 12 long years.
According to PSCA’s, Sana Ashraf will be handed over to her parents through the Child Protection Court after completion of all necessary legal formalities. “Mera Pyara” team remains actively engaged in tracing missing and unclaimed children and reuniting them with their families.
The Safe City urged citizens to report cases involving missing children by calling Emergency Helpline 15 and pressing 3 adding that The Punjab Safe Cities Authority remains committed to making every possible effort, in collaboration with citizens and relevant institutions, to trace missing children and reunite them with their loved ones.
