KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has pledged all possible support to promote trade and industry, and resolve issues confronting the business community.

He made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of industrialists and traders from Karachi and Hyderabad, led by Khalid Tawab, here at Governor House on Sunday.

The delegation included Korangi Association of Trade and Industry President Muhammad Ikram Rajput, Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Iqbal Baig, Senior Vice President Naeemuddin, Glass Bangle Industries President Saleem Khan and industrialist Pehlaj Rai.

Naeemuddin briefed the governor on problems being faced by members of the Hyderabad Chamber, while Saleem Khan highlighted challenges confronting the city’s glass bangle industry.

Hashmi said Hyderabad’s glass bangle sector had considerable export potential and called for effective measures to connect the city’s agricultural and industrial output with international markets.

“Local products can generate valuable foreign exchange if they are developed in accordance with international export standards,” the governor said.

He assured the delegation that the provincial government would extend all possible cooperation to promote industrial and commercial activity and address the concerns of the business community.
