FAISALABAD: The Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) has honored Vice Chancellor Government College University Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, with the APSUP Excellence Award 2026 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to higher education and transformative leadership in academia.
The prestigious award was presented to Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam by Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and Chairman APSUP Prof. Dr. Ch Abdul Rehman at a ceremony held at Governor House, Lahore.
The award acknowledges Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam’s vision and efforts towards strengthening research, innovation, entrepreneurship, international collaboration and industry-academia linkages at GCUF. Under his leadership, the university has made significant progress in research and innovation, improved its position in international rankings, expanded global academic partnerships and strengthened engagement with industry. These initiatives have contributed to GCUF’s growing profile as a research-driven and globally connected institution.
