LAHORE: Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) has formally inaugurated its Neurology Unit 2 along with a state-of-the-art Neuro Critical Care Unit comprising 20 beds.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chairman Board of Management PINS Captain Zahid Saeed (retd), Executive Director PINS Prof. Dr Asif Bashir, Prof. Dr Qasim Bashir, MS Prof. Dr Umar Ishaq and other senior doctors. Principal Prof. Dr Farooq Afzal, Dr Faryad Hussain, Prof. Jodat Saleem, Prof. Mohsin Zaheer, Prof. Nighat, Prof. Saira, Dr Almas Bashir, Dr Adnan Khalid and Asia Khanam were also present.

The new 20-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit has been established with the cooperation and funds amounting to millions of rupees by the philanthropists, reflecting a strong commitment to serving suffering humanity and delivering modern medical care to patients.

Chairman BoM PINS Captain Zahid Saeed (retd) said the establishment of Neurology Unit 2 and the Neuro Critical Care Unit is an important step towards the progress of the institute. The new units will ensure improved treatment and care facilities for neurological patients.

Prof. Dr Qasim Bashir stated that the new unit will help deliver better and timelier treatment facilities to neurological patients while further raising the standard of care for neuro-critical cases.

ED PINS Prof. Dr Asif Bashir said the creation of the new unit is a significant step for providing modern medical facilities. He added that further measures are underway at PINS to ensure quality, advanced and effective medical care for patients. He highlighted that the new Neuro Critical Care Unit is equipped with advanced medical technology and continuous monitoring systems to provide quality treatment to complex and critically ill neurological patients.

Prof. Asif Bashir further said this initiative is fully in line with the vision of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, under which providing quality, modern and equitable healthcare facilities to the people of the province remains a top priority. The PINS administration is committed to delivering effective and timely medical care to patients 24 hours a day.

Medical experts said that the objective of the new unit is to provide round-the-clock modern, effective and quality medical care to neurological patients so that every patient coming to PINS receives the best possible treatment to every citizen.
