LAHORE: As part of ongoing urban revitalization efforts across the provincial capital, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director-General, Tahir Farooq, inspected several major infrastructure projects on Saturday, highlighting the re-modelling of the Lahore Railway Station area and the completion of the Bhati Chowk Underpass.

According to the LDA, it is pushing forward with critical urban infrastructure improvements, ranging from finished lane markings at the Bhati Chowk Underpass to new escalators for senior citizens at Data Darbar.

Moreover, the parking area in front of the railway station has been re-modelled, giving the entire area a modern and attractive look.

Also, on August 13 and 14, a large number of people enjoyed the Independence Day decorations and the newly-designed sitting areas at the railway station.

During the LDA DG’s visits to several major development projects currently underway, he was accompanied by LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed and TEPA Chief Engineer Iqrar Hussain, who provided detailed briefings on the projects.

Farooq inspected the railway station and the Bhati Chowk underpasses, which included an inspection of the newly installed dancing fountain.

He was informed that, on the instructions of the chief minister of Punjab, the LDA had installed Lahore’s first colourful dancing fountain, which stood over 100 feet tall.

Over the Independence Day celebrations, many people enjoyed this fountain and the beautiful sitting areas.

On this occasion, the LDA DG ordered swift completion of works, improved traffic signage, and dedicated seating arrangements for local workers.

He also announced plans for a second dancing fountain to be installed on the Circular Road before the Azadi Flyover.

The LDA DG also conducted a detailed review of the ongoing work outside Data Darbar, where he was briefed about the installation of escalators for senior citizens.
