ISLAMABAD: The federal government has appointed Ghulamullah Shaikh as Member (Law) of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) for a period of three years with immediate effect.
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat, Establishment Division, on August 12, 2026, Shaikh has been appointed under Section 3(2)(c)(ii) of the Regulation of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electric Power Act, 1997.
The notification said the appointment would be on monthly pay and emoluments equivalent to the median of MP-I scale, along with admissible prerequisites.
The appointment has been made under the Cabinet Division and will remain effective for three years, unless further orders are issued by the federal government.
With the appointment of Ghulamullah Shaikh as Member, total number of members of the authority has increased to three. The position of Balochistan in the authority is still vacant.
