Wahdat Poultry acquires land for pasteurization plant

  • Land funded through the proceeds of the company’s IPO
Published Updated

Wahdat Poultry Farm Limited announced on Wednesday that it had acquired 1.02 acres of land, valued at Rs28.13 million, located in the Bhalwal Industrial Estate, District Sargodha, for the establishment of its proposed pasteurisation plant.

The company disclosed this in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

The said land has been funded from the proceeds of the company’s initial public offering (IPO), in line with the utilisation plan disclosed in the prospectus, the notice added.

“The acquisition of land represents a key milestone in the implementation of the company’s value-added expansion strategy.

The proposed pasteurisation plant to be established on the said land is expected to enhance the company’s processing capabilities, enable diversification into value-added egg products, and strengthen overall operational efficiency and market competitiveness.”

Moreover, the notice said that the company remained committed to timely execution of its expansion projects and will continue to keep the PSX and shareholders informed of further material developments, including construction progress and installation of plant and machinery.

In July, the company approved its annual budget and business plan for the financial year ending June 30, 2027, while also giving the green light to a series of strategic expansion initiatives aimed at strengthening its value-added product portfolio and operational efficiency.

Founded in 2006 and later incorporated as a public limited company, Wahdat Poultry operates as a vertically integrated poultry business engaged in egg production, grading, packaging and distribution.

The company currently operates four automated layer farms with a capacity of around 430,000 birds, producing up to 400,000 eggs per day.
