Restoration of bridge near Missan Kalar: Minister directs authorities to prepare report
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has directed the relevant authorities to prepare and submit a feasibility report for the restoration of the bridge within 20 days, covering all necessary technical and construction requirements.
He passed these direction during a detailed inspection of the collapsed bridge and the affected railway track near Missan Kalar. The Federal Minister travelled on a railway trolley to inspect the affected section and reviewed the current condition of the bridge and track.
The Federal Minister was given a detailed briefing on the damage to the affected portion of the bridge and railway track, the current situation and the proposed restoration measures.
He stated that following completion of the feasibility report, the practical work for reconstruction of the bridge and restoration of the affected railway track would be undertaken by Pakistan Railways engineers.
He directed that the restoration work be completed expeditiously while ensuring all required safety standards and technical specifications.
The Federal Minister said that every officer and employee must fulfill their responsibilities to facilitate the restoration of operations, adding that passenger convenience and the safe movement of trains remain the top priorities.
CEO Railways Muhammad Hafizullah, AGM Infrastructure Hammad Hassan Mirza, Divisional Superintendent Lahore, and other senior railway officers accompanied the Federal Minister during the inspection.
