Palm retreats on weaker Chicago soyoil, crude oil

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian palm oil futures opened lower on Thursday after two straight sessions of gains, weighed down by weaker Chicago soyoil and crude oil prices.

The benchmark palm oil contract for October delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange slid 13 ringgit, or 0.28%, to 4,689 ringgit ($1,147.58) a metric ton in early trade.
