LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday overruled an objection raised by the registrar office to a petition filed by a PTI leader Mian Akram seeking permission to hold a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 05.
The court directed the registrar office to fix the petition for hearing.
The petitioner Mian Akram contended that he had submitted an application before the Deputy Commissioner on July 22, seeking permission for the Jalsa and added, despite repeated requests, the DC office had neither granted nor formally refused the request.
He, therefore, asked the court to direct the respondent DC to issue the NOC and ensure security arrangements for the public rally.
