KARACHI: International Packaging Films Limited (IPAK) has announced plans to expand its international footprint by establishing a wholly owned subsidiary in Portugal to strengthen its commercial presence in the European Union.

According to a company statement issued on Friday, the proposed subsidiary will be incorporated by IPAK Connect Packaging Materials Trading FZCO, the group’s wholly owned subsidiary based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Following its incorporation, the Portuguese entity will become part of the IPAK Group and serve as its commercial platform within the European market.

The company said the expansion forms part of its international growth strategy and is aimed at bringing the group’s operations closer to existing and prospective customers across Europe.

The Portugal-based subsidiary will act as a regional hub for the group’s European operations, supporting collaboration with customers, converters, distributors and other industry partners. The company said the local presence is expected to facilitate faster commercial coordination, product development, order planning and after-sales support.

IPAK said the new entity will also enhance its understanding of developments in packaging technologies, sustainability requirements, regulatory frameworks and evolving customer preferences in the European market, enabling the group to align its products and commercial strategy accordingly.

The proposed expansion remains subject to obtaining the required legal, regulatory and corporate approvals.
