ISLAMABAD: The government has outlined an ambitious mandate for a team of technology and financial systems experts tasked with building Pakistan’s next-generation digital public payments infrastructure, assigning them the responsibility for integrating government entities with Raast instant payment system and modernizing public payment and receipt mechanisms.

The federal government has moved to fast-track Pakistan’s digital public finance agenda by establishing the Government Payments and Receipts Transformation Unit (GPRTU) in the Finance Division.

The initiative aims to accelerate adoption of Raast platform across federal government institutions through standardized, secure, and interoperable digital payment solutions. The unit has been created to strengthen the government’s capacity to implement end-to-end digital payment systems while improving efficiency, transparency and financial governance.

According to the Finance Division, the solution/enterprise architect would serve as the lead technical expert responsible for designing the enterprise architecture for government integration with Raast, assessing existing IT infrastructure, developing integration blueprints, ensuring compliance with the State Bank of Pakistan standards and overseeing implementation, testing and cybersecurity safeguards.

The infrastructure and system engineer will be entrusted with deploying and maintaining secure, high-availability infrastructure, ensuring system resilience, optimizing performance, enabling disaster recovery, and ensuring uninterrupted operations of the government’s digital payment ecosystem.

The business analyst/process optimization specialist will review and redesign existing government payment and receipt workflows, identify operational bottlenecks, streamline business processes, and coordinate with ministries and public sector organizations to facilitate smooth migration to digital payment systems.
