KARACHI: The core digital tax services of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will remain suspended for two days next month for planned system maintenance.
While urging taxpayers to complete pending transactions well ahead of the shutdown, the board said that the maintenance will begin at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, and continue until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026.
During this period, taxpayers will be unable to access IRIS, the FBR’s primary online tax filing portal, as well as the Digital Invoicing (DI) system, the Payment System, the Synchronised Withholding Administration and Payment System (SWAPS), and the POS Registration service. The FBR said all related transactions on these platforms will be unavailable for the duration of the maintenance.
The tax authority has advised all taxpayers and stakeholders to plan their tax-related activities accordingly, and to complete any time-sensitive filings, payments, registrations, or other transactions before the maintenance period begins. The FBR confirmed that all affected services are expected to resume immediately once the maintenance work is successfully completed.
