FBR to shut down IRIS, other online systems for weekend maintenance

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced on Friday a planned system maintenance exercise that will take several of its key digital services offline for over 52 hours this coming weekend.
According to a press release issued by the tax authority, the maintenance window will begin at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, and continue until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026.
During this period, taxpayers will be unable to access IRIS, the FBR’s online tax filing portal, along with Digital Invoicing (DI), the Payment System, the Synchronized Withholding Administration and Payment System (SWAPS), and POS Registration.
The FBR said no transactions on these platforms will be possible while the upgrade is underway.
The tax authority has urged taxpayers and other stakeholders to complete any pending or time-sensitive filings, payments, and registrations before the maintenance period begins, in order to avoid last-minute disruptions.
The FBR said all affected services are expected to resume immediately once the maintenance work is completed, and it apologized for any inconvenience the outage may cause, thanking taxpayers for their cooperation.
