ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), on Thursday reaffirmed that targeted operations against Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan would continue with full resolve until the menace of terrorism and its facilitators are eliminated from Pakistan.
Addressing participants of the 20th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the Army Chief said Pakistan remained firmly committed to dismantling terrorist infrastructure wherever it posed a threat to the country and its people.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal expressed confidence that the consistent efforts of the security forces and law enforcement agencies, backed by the unwavering support of the people, would bring lasting peace to Balochistan.
He said foreign-sponsored proxy groups had persistently attempted to fuel violence, undermine stability and disrupt peace in Balochistan, adding that their designs would be defeated through a firm and decisive response by the armed forces, supported by the resilience and unity of the Pakistani people.
Describing Balochistan as the pride of Pakistan, the Field Marshal said the province was endowed with immense natural resources and its greatest strength was its resilient, patriotic and vibrant people.
He highlighted that ongoing development initiatives by the federal and provincial governments were focused on transforming Balochistan’s socio-economic landscape through an inclusive and people-centric approach.
The COAS also praised the constructive role of civil society, academia, media and youth in promoting national integration and contributing to lasting peace and prosperity in the province.
Emphasising the importance of national unity and perseverance, he said collective resolve was essential for shaping Pakistan’s future and overcoming security challenges.
The interaction concluded with a candid question-and-answer session, during which participants reaffirmed their commitment to Pakistan’s stability, progress and sovereignty, the ISPR said.
