ALMATY: Kazakhstan’s Grain Union has raised its grain export forecast for the current agricultural year to August 2026 by 5percent to 14.3 million metric tons, union analyst Yevgeny Karabanov said on Wednesday in a comment posted on Telegram.
Kazakhstan exported 13.1 million tons of grain and flour (in grain equivalent) between September 1 and June 30, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Ministry data indicates Kazakhstan increased grain exports by 13percent this year compared to the same period last year, when shipments totalled 11.6 million tons.
This week, Kazakhstan, Central Asia’s largest grain producer, launched its harvest campaign, threshing 461,200 tons of wheat. To date, 634,000 tons of grain crops have been threshed. The average yield is nearly 1.7 times higher than the figure recorded on the same date last year.
In 2025, Kazakhstan harvested a record grain crop of 27.1 million tons. In 2026, Kazakhstan reduced its wheat sowing area to 12.1 million hectares, down from 12.2 million hectares the previous year.
