LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial government is introducing historic and transformative reforms in the fields of education, healthcare and public transport, ensuring that the benefits of development reach every city and every segment of society across Punjab.
Azma Bokhari said the Punjab government is investing in the future of the youth by providing laptops, scholarships and electric bikes to students. She added that the Nawaz Sharif School of Eminence project will mark a new era of academic excellence by promoting quality education and nurturing talented students through world-class learning opportunities.
She further said that remarkable progress has also been achieved in the healthcare sector. The Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital in Lahore and the Cardiology Hospital in Sargodha have been completed, while patients at government hospitals across Punjab are receiving free medicines and all essential diagnostic tests at no cost, ensuring access to quality healthcare for every citizen, he said.
The Information Minister said that to provide modern, safe and environmentally friendly transport facilities, the network of green electric buses is being expanded from district headquarters to tehsil level across Punjab. She added that during the intense summer heat, air-conditioned electric buses have become a major source of comfort and convenience for the general public.
Azma Bokhari said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ensured that government resources and public services reach every corner of Punjab. She remarked that while people once had to run from office to office in search of government assistance, today the government itself is reaching citizens at their doorstep. She said this commitment to public service, effective governance and welfare-oriented policies is what distinguishes the Maryam Nawaz government from previous administrations.
