KARACHI: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) welcomed an 11-member business delegation from the Arak Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture, Iran at its Headquarters in Karachi on Thursday. The delegation was led by Naser Beyki, Chairman of the Arak Chamber, and accompanied by Morad Neimati, Commercial Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan.

The meeting was chaired by Sheryar Taj, Secretary TDAP, who highlighted the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran and emphasized the importance of enhancing economic cooperation through stronger business-to-business linkages. TDAP presented an overview of Pakistan’s exports and emphasized the vast untapped potential for expanding bilateral trade and investment across multiple sectors.

Athar Hussain Khokhar, Director General, Agro and Food Division briefed the Iranian delegation on Pakistan’s export strengths and identified promising products with significant export potential to the Iranian market in rice, meat and meat products, fresh fruits and vegetables, maize seed, potatoes, onions, garlic, citrus fruits, sesame seed, mango pulp, edible oils, and processed food products.

He also invited the delegation to participate in Pakistan’s premier Food and Agriculture exhibition-FoodAg 2026 and other flagship international exhibitions organized by TDAP to explore new business opportunities and establish long-term commercial partnerships.

The Iranian delegation represented a diverse range of sectors including agriculture, livestock, engineering, home appliances, metals, mining, and railway equipment. During the interactive session, both sides exchanged views on market opportunities, investment prospects, technology transfer, and industrial collaboration aimed at promoting sustainable bilateral trade.

In order to facilitate direct commercial engagement, TDAP organized both in-person and virtual Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings between the visiting delegation and leading Pakistani companies. Pakistani firms participating physically included GFC Fans, Ampex Seeds, OGT, REAP, Royal Fans, Inovi Telecom, Dawlance, Infinix Mobile, Fauji Meat Limited, Meat World, and MATCO Foods. Companies participating virtually included Waves, Rafique Engineering, PEL, Super Asia, TCL Electronics Holdings, and PEFMA.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain regular engagement through reciprocal business delegations, strengthen institutional cooperation, participate in each other’s trade exhibitions, and explore joint ventures in agro-food processing, livestock, engineering goods, home appliances, automotive parts, metals and mining.
