ISLAMABAD: The federal government has notified a 35 percent increase in salaries for Tenure Track System (TTS) faculty, ratifying the Prime Minister’s decision and revising the TTS-2026 pay package with effect from July 1, 2026.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Finance, the revised package covers Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors serving under the TTS in public sector universities.
Under the revised scales, the minimum salary of Professors has been increased from Rs394,875 to Rs407,230, while the maximum pay has risen to Rs712,030. For Associate Professors, the revised salary ranges from Rs370,810 to Rs645,610, and Assistant Professors will now receive Rs288,020 to Rs553,820.
The notification states that the basic pay of existing TTS employees as of June 30, 2026, will be fixed on a point-to-point basis in the new pay scale.
The Finance Ministry clarified that the financial impact of the pay revision will be met by universities from their own resources, adding that the federal government will not assume any additional financial liability arising from the increase. All other terms and conditions of the TTS service will remain unchanged.
