LAHORE: The digitalisation of Lahore’s urban land management entered its next phase as Deputy Commissioner Captain Muhammad Ali Ijaz (R) inspected counter operations at the Shalimar and Wagah Land Record Centres on Wednesday.

The visit focused on accelerating the ‘Green Property Certificate’ initiative and integrating it with the central ‘Plus’ system to ensure 100 percent data accuracy and hassle-free property transfers for citizens.

During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Hafiz Karim Dad Chughtai, the Chief Officer of the Municipal Corporation of Lahore (MCL), and the concerned assistant commissioners. He closely examined the ongoing revenue reforms and the process of issuing green property certificates at the land record centres. He received a briefing on how land records are being consolidated into a central digital database to resolve long-standing property disputes permanently. He also oversaw counter operations and data entry at the record centres, issuing strict instructions to ensure 100 percent accuracy when issuing certificates.

On this occasion, he directed the technical teams to promptly integrate the ‘Plus’ system with the green property database to eliminate any technical obstacles related to transfers and registrations. He emphasised that the level of public relief provided at these centres is the true measure of the administration’s performance and that this will not be compromised under any circumstances.

He also stated that this flagship programme will significantly transform the urban land management system, providing citizens with land records that are easy to access. He instructed that all technical information and guidance be provided to individuals visiting the land centres, so that no citizen has to make unnecessary trips to the offices.
