KARACHI: Hundreds of students from universities across Karachi were briefed on the details of Alkhidmat Karachi’s Social Internship Program at an orientation ceremony held here on Saturday, where speakers urged the youth to break free of despair and take charge of their future.
Chief of KarachiJamaat-e-Islami (JI), Monem Zafar, addressing the ceremony as chief guest, said Alkhidmat was a ray of hope for the youth, and that young people must come out of despair, move forward, and play their role in changing the country’s destiny.
Alkhidmat CEO and BanoQabil Program Pakistan chairman Naveed Ali Baig and Executive Director Rashid Qureshi also addressed the ceremony. Senior Manager of the Volunteer Management Program Asadullah Qureshi also attended the ceremony.
Hundreds of male and female students from universities across Karachi were present.
Zafar said the Social Internship Program would create opportunities for young people and help nurture their abilities. He said the BanoQabil Program was the vision of Hafiz NaeemurRehman, aimed at bringing Karachi’s youth out of hopelessness, and that the initiative had since spread across the country. He added that two million young people had registered for the BanoQabil Program, while 500,000 nationwide had already benefited from it.
