LAHORE: The Spot Rate Committee of the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) on Saturday increased the Spot rate by Rs 3,00 per maund per year and closed it at Rs 17,800 per maund.
Cotton Analyst Naseem Usman told Business Recorder that local cotton market remained tight and the trading volume remained satisfactory.
He also told that the rate of cotton in Sindh is in between Rs17,700 to Rs 18,000 per maund, while Phutti in the province is trading between Rs 8,200 to Rs 8,800 per 40 kilograms. In Punjab, cotton rates stand between Rs17, 800 to Rs 18, 000 per maund, with Phutti fetching between Rs 8,100 to Rs 9,000 per 40 kilograms.
The rate of cotton in Balochistan is in between Rs 17, 400 to Rs 17,500 per maund while the rate of Phutti is in between Rs 8,200 to Rs 9, 000 per 40 kg.
600 bales of Tando Adam were sold in between Rs 17,700 to Rs 17,800 per maund, 400 bales of Shahdad Pur were sold at Rs 17,800 per maund, 200 bales of Vehari, 200 bales of Noor Pur Naursnga were sold at Rs 18,000 per maund and 400 bales of Winder were sold at Rs 17,700 per maund.
