NEW DELHI: India needs to increase its oil and fuel storage capacity while oil prices are low, and intensify outreach to bilateral partners, Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Thursday.
The sum total of crude stocks at ports, terminals, refineries and in strategic petroleum reserve is enough to last 76 to 80 days, Puri said, adding New Delhi “should have more”.

“Maybe that’s one of the lessons we’ve learned”. We have learned the lesson and we will try to increase storage,“ Puri added, referring to the crisis in the Gulf region.
