Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Kaja Kallas on Sunday discussed the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East, stressing the need to uphold the ceasefire agreement and keep communication channels open.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar held a telephone conversation with Kallas during which they reviewed recent regional developments.
Kallas appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts that culminated in the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
However, she expressed serious concern over recent ceasefire violations and underscored the importance of maintaining open channels of communication.
Dar briefed the EU foreign policy chief on Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement aimed at achieving a comprehensive framework for peace and stability in the Middle East.
He also emphasised the need for all parties to adhere to the ceasefire agreement to prevent further escalation.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact as the regional situation continues to evolve.
