Pakistan’s privatisation chief & Turkish Energy Minister discuss bilateral energy ties in Ankara

Boosting energy ties took centre stage as both Pakistan and Türkiye pledged to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the sector and explore new avenues for joint investment.

The development came during a high-level meeting between Adviser to the Prime Minister on Privatisation, Muhammad Ali, with the Minister for Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye during Ali’s visit to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in Ankara on Monday, read an official statement on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the two ministers exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, investment opportunities, and avenues for enhanced collaboration between Pakistan and Türkiye.

Discussions also focused on fostering strategic partnerships, promoting private sector participation, and sharing experiences in energy sector reforms and development.

The meeting reflected the strong and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye and reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to further deepen economic and institutional cooperation for mutual benefit.

Ali appreciated Türkiye’s achievements in the energy sector and expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in expanding cooperation in areas of common interest. Both sides agreed to continue engagement and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
