ISLAMABAD: Foreign Ministers of Türkiye, Canada, and Bahrain have praised Pakistan’s crucial intermediary role in facilitating the momentous US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) peace agreement, recognizing Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts in bridging differences and helping pave the way to end the months-long conflict between Washington and Tehran.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received telephone calls from the four FMs and discussed the latest regional and international developments following the digital signing of the US-Iran MoU.

Foreign Minister of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan, called DPM Dar and congratulated Pakistan on the historic signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, which was endorsed by Pakistan as the mediator.

Both leaders expressed hope that this significant development would contribute to lasting peace, stability, and progress in the region. Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar also received a call from the Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Dr. Abdul latif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

The Bahraini FM congratulated DPM/FM on the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, with Pakistan as witness. He also lauded Pakistan’s constructive mediation role in facilitating the understanding.

They reaffirmed the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Bahrain and underscored the importance of continued high-level engagement and close cooperation between the two countries.

Dar also spoke on Wednesday night with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand.

FM Anita Anand commended Pakistan’s constructive role in supporting diplomatic engagement and mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, which helped facilitate the understanding reached between the two parties. They also discussed the forthcoming engagement between the parties in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on Friday.

Appreciating the positive momentum in Pakistan–Canada relations, they reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

Both leaders felicitated each other on this important milestone and expressed hope that it would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.
