PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Minister for Energy and Power, Nazir Ahmad Abbasi has said that the immediate resolution of public issues related to electricity in the province is our top priority, for which we will make the federal departments providing services in the province subordinate to the people in every way within the constitutional limits.

Moreover, Inspectorate of Electricity, a subsidiary of Energy and Power Department, KP has established one-window complaint centers in five regional offices in other districts of the province including Peshawar for the immediate resolution of the issues faced by electricity consumers in the province, where consumers can visit the office and then register their complaints through other channels. The Secretary Energy and Power is monitoring these centers for their immediate resolution.

In addition to this, resolution of disputes related to electricity bills and meters between electricity distribution companies (PESCO, HEZCO, TESCO) in the province, such as additional units, illegal fines and correction of incorrect tariffs, prevention of loss of precious lives and property due to faulty installations, prevention of fatal and non-fatal accidents due to electricity.

The public can immediately contact the department for resolution of inquiries, issuance of electrical supervisor certificates and electrical contractor licenses and other issues.

In this regard, consideration has been given to making the one-window system more effective for the immediate resolution of electricity issues. He expressed these views while presiding over an introductory review meeting on behalf of the Inspectorate of Electricity.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Energy and Power Nisar Ahmed, Additional Secretary Anwar Khan Sherani, Provincial Electric Inspector Ahsan Khattak and Senior Chief Planning Officer Zahir Shah.
