KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established a PRAL Front Desk at the Large Taxpayers Office (LTO) in Karachi, aimed at resolving longstanding technical complaints from the city’s business community around Pakistan’s digital tax infrastructure.

According to the FBR, the facility, set up under directives from Prime Minister of Pakistan and in response to demands from Karachi’s business community, is headed by a dedicated Chief of Inland Revenue Operations and staffed by a specialized team from Pakistan Revenue Automation Ltd (PRAL), backed by dedicated IT infrastructure.

The desk will provide on-site technical support for a range of digital tax services including IRIS system issues, e-filing, taxpayer registration, online payments, Sales Tax returns, and refund processing services that have frequently drawn complaints from businesses over delays and system-related friction.

The FBR has framed the initiative as part of a broader government push to modernize tax administration through technology, emphasizing transparency and responsiveness as key objectives.
