LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) organized the second session of its “One Day One University” programme, featuring an exhibition of products, projects, and prototypes developed by the students of Lahore Garrison University (LGU).

LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol inaugurated the exhibition. The event also was attended by LCCI Vice President Khurram Lodhi, Vice Chancellor of Lahore Garrison University Major General Muhammad Khalil Dar (Retd), Director General of the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) Pakistan Nauman Aslam Sheikh, Executive Committee Members Rana Nisar, Rana Shoban Akhtar, Karamat Ali Awan, and Amina Randhawa, along with Convener Umer Saleem, faculty members, students, and representatives of the business community.

The LCCI President said that connecting young talent with business opportunities is one of the Chamber’s key priorities. He added that the “One Day One University” initiative serves as an important platform to bridge the gap between academia and industry, enabling students to gain exposure to the practical business environment.

He said students’ creativity and innovation can play a significant role in Pakistan’s economic development, while stronger collaboration between universities and industry can promote research, innovation, and product development.

The LGU vice chancellor said providing students with modern skills and practical opportunities alongside education is essential in today’s world. He described the “One Day One University” programme as an effective platform for connecting youth with industry and the business sector. The Garrison University is equipping students with modern education, research capabilities, innovation, and practical skills. Strong collaboration between universities and industry, he said, can create better opportunities for students while contributing to national development.

Director General IPO Pakistan Nauman Aslam Sheikh while briefing the students on intellectual property rights and their importance said that students have greater educational and professional opportunities than ever before, but they must also understand the importance of protecting their innovations and creative work.
