KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi on Sunday welcomed the decision of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) to withdraw its candidate in favour of a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) contender in the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly election, describing the move as a positive example of political maturity and democratic cooperation.
In a statement issued from Karachi, the Governor appreciated MQM-P Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and party candidate Ehtesham Sharif for withdrawing from the Shigar district constituency in support of PML-N candidate Tahir Shikri.
