ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, held an informal interaction with Chinese Premier Li Qiang during a high-level reception ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing during the Pakistani leadership’s ongoing visit to China.
According to official details, the Chinese premier warmly greeted Field Marshal Munir during the ceremony and exchanged views with him on the sidelines of the event, reflecting the continuing close strategic coordination between Pakistan and China at both political and military levels.

The interaction comes at a time of heightened regional geopolitical activity and follows recent intensive diplomatic engagements involving Pakistan on regional security, connectivity and strategic stability issues. Analysts view the presence of Pakistan’s military leadership alongside the civilian leadership during the China visit as significant, particularly in the context of evolving regional alignments, CPEC cooperation, defence collaboration and broader discussions on regional peace and security.
Field Marshal Asim Munir is accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the multi-day visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure, technology and strategic coordination between the two longstanding allies.
