RAWALPINDI: All Pakistan Petroleum Pump Owners Association has demanded an immediate review of the current policy regarding price adjustments of petroleum products to maintain market stability. The Association has urged that the weekly pricing mechanism be abolished and the previous 15-day schedule be reinstated.
The Association’s Vice Chairman, Nauman Ali Butt, has issued a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The letter highlights the complications, challenges, and operational difficulties arising from the current policy. It states that pump operators have serious reservations, as the weekly fluctuation in petroleum prices has led to significant operational and financial instability.
The continuous rise and fall in prices is not only damaging businesses but also creating numerous complications in accounting, customer dealings, and overall operations, placing an unnecessary burden on pump owners. Furthermore, frequent price changes make it difficult to maintain market stability and public confidence.
In light of these issues, the Association has strongly recommended that the current pricing policy be immediately withdrawn and the previous 15-day routine be restored. This, they believe, will bring stability to the business, improve operational efficiency, and create a balanced environment for owners, dealers, and customers alike.
