LAHORE: The funeral prayer of renowned journalist, intellectual, and founder of Urdu Digest, Altaf Hassan Qureshi was offered at Jamia Ashrafia on Saturday.
A large number of political, social, religious, and media personalities participated in the funeral prayers, including Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, MNA Hafiz Nauman, and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Farid Paracha.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy with the bereaved family. He said that Altaf Hassan Qureshi rendered invaluable services to national journalism, intellectual guidance, and ideological literature.
He further stated that the late journalist’s writings and contributions to journalism would continue to serve as a guiding light for future generations.
The Speaker also prayed for the elevation of the departed soul’s ranks and for patience and strength for the bereaved family.
