Sri Lankan shares close lower

COLOMBO: Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Monday, due to losses in healthcare and industrials stocks. Here are the details:

The CSE All Share index settled down 0.23 percent at 23,011.72.

LAUGFS Gas PLC and Tess Agro PLC were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, falling 4.56 percent and 4.55 percent, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 185.3 million shares from 273.7 million in the previous session. The equity market’s turnover rose to 4.93 billion Sri Lankan rupees

(USD15.31 million) from 4.09 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 661.7 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 4.86 billion rupees, the data showed.
