ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s top military leadership on Saturday said Marka-e-Haq has strengthened the country’s strategic deterrence and established Pakistan as a “responsible regional stabiliser” possessing formidable military capabilities, as the nation marked the first anniversary of the military campaign.

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff; Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf; and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu extended congratulations to the nation and members of the armed forces on the occasion.

The military leadership said Marka-e-Haq had become a defining milestone in Pakistan’s national journey, reflecting military professionalism, strategic maturity, and national resolve. The statement said Pakistan’s response during the conflict exposed “adversarial conspiracies, false flag narratives and disinformation campaigns,” reducing its international credibility.

According to the ISPR, Pakistan’s armed forces demonstrated operational superiority across land, air, sea, cyber, and information domains despite facing conventional and hybrid threats, including proxy terrorism.

The military leadership further stated that Pakistan had strengthened its defensive and full-spectrum deterrence capabilities following Marka-e-Haq, despite resource asymmetries, adding that the campaign significantly enhanced public confidence in the armed forces.

Ceremonies are being held across the country to commemorate the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, with floral wreaths being laid at martyrs’ memorials and special prayers being offered to honour the sacrifices of martyrs and veterans.

The armed forces reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding sovereignty while promoting regional peace and stability, stressing that lasting peace in South Asia could only be achieved through meaningful dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to international law.

The statement concluded by affirming that Pakistan’s armed forces remain vigilant and fully prepared to confront all internal and external challenges with the support of a resilient and united nation.
