SAO PAULO: Brazil’s soybean production is expected to reach 181.6 million metric tons in 2025/26, consultancy firm StoneX said on Monday, raising its outlook by around 1 percent from an April projection.
The revision reflects higher productivity estimates across the country and an upward revision for the planted area in the Rio Grande do Sul state, the consultancy said.
“As a result, even with yield losses due to the weather, the state is on track to reach a production level of around 21 million tons,” it said about the southern state.
The country’s total corn crop was estimated at 137 million tons in 2025/26, up from a previous forecast of 135.7 million tons.
The upward revision came due to a 4 percent increase in the forecast for the first corn crop to 28.3 million tons.
The estimate for Brazil’s 2025/26 second corn crop, which represents the bulk of production, remained roughly unchanged at 106.1 million tons.
