PARIS: European Union soft wheat exports since the start of the 2025/26 season in July totalled 19.01 million metric tons by April 19, up from 18.57 million tons a week earlier and up 8percent from a year ago, European Commission data showed on Wednesday.
The weekly data had been delayed from Tuesday.
Romania remained the leading EU soft wheat exporter at 6.33 million tons, followed by France with 4.89 million tons, Poland at 2.54 million tons, Lithuania at 1.81 million tons, and Germany with 1.62 million tons, the data showed.
EU barley exports so far in 2025/26 had reached 7.87 million tons, up from 7.81 million tons the previous week and 84percent above the level seen during the same period in 2024/25.
However, the Commission said export data for France were incomplete since the start of calendar year 2024, for Bulgaria and Ireland since the start of the 2023/24 marketing year and for Greece since January 2026.
It also said anomalously high Romanian durum wheat export figures for 2025/26 may be linked to a reporting error.
