  • Authorities close hotels, markets, shopping malls and other public places until further notice

As part of security measures amid expected arrival of foreign delegations, Rawalpindi administration has closed shopping malls, markets, hotels, and other public places until further notice, Aaj News reported on Sunday.

According to local police, all business centers, shopping malls, hotels, parks, and commercial hubs will remain closed starting at midnight tonight.

The authorities have warned that any violations of these restrictions will lead to severe legal actions.

This drastic measure comes ahead of the arrival of foreign delegations, and security arrangements are being stepped up to ensure a smooth visit.

Police officials have confirmed that nearly 10,000 law enforcement officers have been deployed throughout the city, and all entrances and exits are under tight surveillance.

Further announcements have been made regarding educational institutions.

Several hostels, including the Boys and Girls Dormitories at Pir Mehr Ali Shah University of Agriculture, have been closed. Students have been instructed to return home immediately.

A meeting, led by City Police Officer Khalid Hamadani, discussed the extensive security preparations in place.

During the briefing, officials emphasized the importance of public cooperation and urged residents to comply with the security protocols to ensure peace and order.

With the city on high alert, citizens are urged to remain cautious, follow all directives issued by the authorities, and assist in maintaining a safe environment during this period of heightened security.
