PESHAWAR: Following the unfortunate fire incident near Hattar Economic Zone (HEZ), the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC), Shaharyar Gul visited the site on Friday.

The CEO conducted a firsthand assessment of the situation and reviewed ongoing response efforts. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

The CEO commended the swift and well-coordinated response of the Hattar Economic Zone Management and District Administration, noting that timely intervention was critical in containing the situation.

He also acknowledged the vital role of Rescue 1122 services, strategically stationed within KPEZDMC economic zones, whose immediate deployment helped manage the emergency effectively.

It was confirmed that the incident occurred outside the operational boundaries of Hattar Economic Zone. Owing to the rapid and coordinated response, the fire was brought under control promptly, and no damage was sustained by any industrial unit within the zone.

The CEO further appreciated the proactive support of Industrialist Association of Hattar, industrial enterprises operating in the zone, whose teams actively assisted in rescue efforts and provided food and essential supplies to those affected, reflecting a commendable spirit of corporate solidarity.

The CEO was accompanied by Members of the Board of Directors, Najiullah Khattak and Safeer Akhtar, along with the Zone Management team.

During the visit, he met with district administration officials and representatives of power and gas authorities, and was briefed on the full scope of response measures undertaken. The management of KPEZDMC has reaffirmed its commitment to close coordination with all relevant authorities and stakeholders as the situation continues to be monitored.
