ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China marked 75 years of diplomatic relations with a high-profile cultural gala in Beijing, underscoring the expanding scope of bilateral ties beyond traditional sectors into cultural industries, media, and people-to-people engagement.
The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, in collaboration with the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), hosted the Star Gala on April 11, bringing together members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, media representatives and creative industry figures.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, said the Pakistan–China relationship had evolved into a model inter-state partnership anchored in mutual trust, respect and consistent support, adding that cultural exchange remained central to sustaining ties “in all seasons.”
Executive Chairman CICCC, Long Yuxiang, highlighted the enduring strength of bilateral friendship and stressed the role of cultural dialogue in deepening mutual understanding, while Zhai Meiqing, President of Xiangjiang Group, pointed to the growing importance of creative industries in enhancing cross-cultural connectivity.
The gala featured a series of performances reflecting artistic collaboration between the two countries, with a standout presentation by Pakistani singer Natasha Baig, who performed in both Urdu and Chinese.
